As a group of 15 women on a hen do on a short 3 night break, we wanted to have everything as organised as possible so as not to waste time and to get the best out of our trip.
I had contacted a couple of other agents, including the hotel we were staying at, but none of the other agents replied and the hotel said they couldn’t help even though they had their own travel agent on site! I thought I’d try one last time a few days before we were due to leave and I stumbled across Morocco Best Travel. I explained how many we were and what we wanted to do – I had a reply within 15 minutes with a full breakdown of the trips I’d asked for, times for pick up, drop off and prices! They asked for a really small deposit of 500 dirhams in total through paypal, but it wouldn’t accept dirhams. I was told not to worry, they’d sort it at the hotel when we arrived. I explained that we wouldn’t get there until after 10pm, but they said that wouldn’t be a problem.
Unfortunately we were delayed at the airport which meant we missed meeting them that night, but the following morning our guide was there as promised to take us on a camel ride. He wouldn’t take payment until after the ride and actually advised us to have the shorter cheaper ride rather than taking advantage and making us pay more – he was right too, 1 hour on a camel was enough. The guide telephoned Hamza for me so I could speak with him to make arrangements to meet that evening to sort the rest of the trip and pay.
Hamza and Mohammed met us half an hour before we were due to leave and explained patiently to all 15 of us the rest of the trips, and as not everyone was doing everything, it was pretty complicated! However it was sorted really quickly.
They then took us to a really lovely restaurant where the food was really lovely – options of pizza, pasta, and Moroccan dishes. My bill came to less than £10 for pasta, bread and half a bottle of wine. It was all very good.
From there we went for rooftop cocktails where we enjoyed the view, and from there they took us to a bar for dancing. Hamza and Mohammed stayed with us all evening which made us feel very secure.
The following morning we were taken on a sightseeing trip of Marrakech and the markets, where our own guide had been arranged for us. The time was our own and we could have stayed out for as long or short as we liked. Again, having the guide with us was very reassuring as it would have been really easy to get lost!
In the evening we were taken to see a show with dinner. Mohammed stayed with us so our transport was waiting to take us back to our hotel.
Overall, we were really impressed with the service, everything was well organised, they were really patient and tried very hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay. They even gave the bride to be a gift which was such a lovely gesture.
If you want a trip that you can tailor to suit your needs, that’s well organised and good value, then I would recommend Morocco Best Travel!
